Brief biography based on limited documentation—so probably the definitive one!
This is a well-researched, albeit brief, biography. I would be surprised if anyone ever tries to write another, as the historical material seems rather scant (we Darwin groupies are rather spoilt in that respect).
I'd have liked to have seen more discussion about the historical significance of White's magnum (and indeed only) opus, but, other than that, a damn fine read.
